We were treated at E3 to a long awaited sequel to Tim Schafer’s amazing game Psychonauts, but while it gets a mention what we see is a spin off that will take place between the new game and the original. So of course, expect a couple of spoilers.
Of course, while the game is still early, we see it picks up pretty much where the previous game left off. Raz, still voiced by the amazing Richard Steven Horvitz mind you, is finally living out his dream of being a Psychonaut whlle trying to rescue Truman Zannotto. What we get to see is at this point really just a recap of events, and the beginning tutorial but the game easily promises to continue the fun and offbeat style of the first.
We know from several comments that the second game proper will pick up from the end of Rhombus of Ruin leaves off. We will see Raz finally visting Psychonaut headquarters. So far, the little of what we know amounts to nefarious forces have been conspiring from within the headquarters which began to shift in policy while their leader Truman had been gone. Raz finds himself unraveling mysteries of both this institution, and the truths behind his family curse. The game began development after a successful kickstarter campaign through the crowdfunding platform Fig raised over 3.8 million dollars. The game is set for 2018 release.
