We bring you coverage of the Sega livestream coming to you from E3. They have a brief itinerary to start us out. We will see Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 3, Yakuza 0, and get a little bit of Sonic News.
We start with the announcement trailer and follow up with some actual gameplay of Dawn of War III from Relic Studios set to come out 2017.
We get told a little more about the game. It’s set on the planet Acheron. We see returning character Gabriel Angelos with a power hammer named the God Splitter and we see the Space Marines handily dealing with a much larger battlefield then prior games. A larger playthrough will be seen June 24th, and that is still a snippet of something larger.
We see some footage of Yakuza Zero as well. It also has an early 2017 release expected. Honestly it’s the minigames that all catch my eye.
The game is a prequel that is set in the 1980s, It was an era of decadence, so this is the time that Kazumi Kiryu rose up in the ranks of the Yakuza. You also get to fight through the criminal underworld of Japan with Goro Majima as well. The game will come to the Americas as both a digital download and have physical distribution as well. We are in the normal setting of Kamurocho, and see the genesis of what we have seen in prior games.
As we move on, we are greated by Aaron Webber of Sega who has a few things to discuss. First, Sonic Fire and Ice is one of the few Sonic games ever delayed and from buzz on the show floor that this has helped to shape up the game nicely. The second and most important thing is that with Sonic\’s 25th anniversary, we will get full details of the new Sonic anniversary title at San Diego Comic-con this year.
Here was the link to the entire event, which was over relatively quick I though. (Update, the original video is down and all I see is a quick cut of the highlights of the several days vs the livestream copy they originally had so I changed the link to that for now)
